Making Your Own Oatmeal Facials

You don’t have to spend tons of money on a facial at the spa because you can make almost the same thing with simple ingredients found in your kitchen. The best facials use only natural ingredients. Oatmeal is one of the ingredients to use for cleansing and moisturizing your skin. Oatmeal is a common ingredient in many body products. To help cleanse and moisturize your skin, try one of the following oatmeal based facials.

The first simple method we will discuss here is adding small amounts of olive oil, egg white and cooked oatmeal together to create a soothing facial mask. Make sure the egg white is thoroughly mixed in. Squeeze in a couple drops of lemon juice and stir it all up one more time. Once all of these ingredients have been mixed well you’ll have a pretty good paste. Now cleanse your skin as usual. Cleaning the neck should be part of this routine too. Next spread the mixture you just finished on your face and neck. Avoid getting the mix in your eyes. And let sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Now that you’ve let it sit, use a warm damp cloth to remove the mix and rinse clean with warm (but not hot) water.

Mix together a third of a cup of oatmeal with a half cup of hot water.

Next set aside to thicken. Combine the next ingredients as you wait for the thickening, tablespoon yogurt, tablespoon honey, and one egg white. Add in the thickened oatmeal. Use your finger tips to evenly spread mix onto your skin avoiding your eyes. Let sit until dry. After a sufficient amount of time has passed, rinse the facial off with warm water-either in the shower or with a wash cloth.

You can also try dampening three tablespoons of oatmeal with a bit of water and adding two teaspoons of witch hazel. Mix together, then apply to your face with upward, circular motions. After letting it sit for just a moment or two, use clean water to thoroughly rinse your face. Use a soft, dry towel to gently pat your face dry.

With all of the options out there it might be fun to even try developing one of your own too. Before you spread your own mix across your skin do a patch test for sensitivity. With some luck you’ll find a recipe that works well for your sin without the expense of the spa.
